European Power Companies evince interest in Himachal Pradesh

The Indian Prime Minister, Mr Modi and the German Chancellor, Ms Angela Merkel visited the Himachal Pradesh Pavilion. They were received by an official delegation led by Mr RD Dhiman, Principal Secy. (Ind.) along with Mr Rajender Singh DI and Mr Tilak Raj Sharma, DDI. The guests were welcomed with traditional kullu shawl, jacket and cap. The Himachal contingent has 14-15 industrialists from the state to explore business opportunities and joint ventures.

A Czech Republic enterprise, CINK Hydro – Energy k.s., which is a leader in the area of technology for small and medium-sized hydropower plants evinced interest in hydro power projects in the state. Also, another group, Provotek, from Germany, has business interests in Wind Energy products is keen on setting up a manufacturing plant in the state.

 

Governor launches “Aryans Safety Helmet”

Chandigarh 17 April

5 engineering students of Chandigarh based Aryans College of Engineering have developed a unique GPS and GSM based Safety Helmet. This innovative project of the Aryans Kashmiri students aims to provide timely first aid facility in case disaster happens at construction/ mining/ industrial sites.

Christened as “Aryans Safety Helmet,” the project was today launched by Governor Punjab & Haryana, Sh.Kaptan Singh Solanki in Raj Bhavan, Haryana. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the event.

Sh. Solanki while launching the helmet said that we lose thousands of lives at construction sites due to their untraceable location. This helmet will really help us to locate them at a much faster speed. Sh. Solanki appreciated the initiative taken by Aryans students and added that this Helmet is an innovation and also a wonderful project.

  1. Gurdeep Singh, HoD, Civil Department, Aryans Group said that this unique helmet consists of three main Parts i.e. GPS system, GSM module and Antenna. Firstly GPS system will receive signals from satellite through an antenna attached to it. The information retrieved from these signals is fed to GSM module. GSM module has a sim card slot which will transfer this information to the system. He added that use of particular web link enables us to locate the position of that system on a google map.

Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, students’ group leader said that “According to recent survey we lose approximately 1000 lives per year while working at their jobs and one out of every five of them is at construction sites. Most of these deaths occur due to non-availability of first aid in time. So this helmet will help us to find the persons under debris and to provide help as early as possible.

Hanan Bashir another student who hails from Srinagar said that this helmet will help us to locate persons under debris or scrap in case of an accident. GPS will work with satellite and transfer information to GSM. We can locate position on google map by using a link.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group said that with the fast change in technology, students are coming up with fresh and innovative ideas. Earlier to this also Aryans students have done many wonderful innovations like “Aryans Android App”, “Save Kashmir Android App”, “Life saving Glove” to name a few.

Giving more information Sajid Zahoor, Javaid Ahmad and Suhail Ahmad said that they are working on further improvement of the device by installing a sensor based emergency button. The button will turn to an alarm in case the person requires first aid by sensing the pressure or other emergency need.

On the occasion apart from others Mr. Himanshu, Ms. Punika Mahajan, Ms. Shashi Katnawer and Ms. Ashima Dhiman were also present.

World Consumer Rights Day Observed in Safdharjang Enclave, New Delhi

New Delhi: 16th March Dignity India, a in collaboration with Citizens Awareness Group & Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS) observed world consumer rights day in recreation cum library center, Safdarjang Enclave New Delhi on 15th March 2015. This year WCRD theme is Healthy Diet. The program was started with Ganesh Vandada. Sh Som Datt Bharti MLA of the area was chief guest and Sh Anant Sharma President Consumer Confodation of India Presided over the event. The Program was attended by 100 consumers which included senior citizens, housewife’s, govt. employees, NGOs etc.

Sh Arun Kumar President Dignity India in his welcome address advised the consumer to fight for the rights and collect bills on every purchase so that if found defective we can take legal action by filing the case in consumer court.

Sh Desh Deepak Deputy Director General Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS) spoke about the standardization of goods. He informed the audience that they should purchase genuine items with BIS label.

Sh Ram Gopal Sharma Chief Editor Alokparv newspaper spoke about the rights as enshrined in the consumer protection act 1986. Smt Madhu Kaushal spoke about the Ill Effects of Tower radiation installed by the mobile companies near residential n educational area.

Sh Anant Sharma President Consumer Confodation of India said in today’s world the condition of consumer is not good and he is exploited by everyone in the market. So educating the consumers on various subjects and updating the statutory provisions of the constitutions is important. He advised the consumers to build a vigorous movement at national level.
Sh Som Datt Bharti MLA who was chief guest of the occasion complemented dignity India for such a campaign and offered his full personal as well as administrative support in such programs.

Sh Surrender Verma Chairman Citizens Awareness Group Chandigarh Proposed vote of thanks and said that they will continue to work with Dignity India in rural as well as urban areas of New Delhi and they will be in touch with the people of Delhi to solve their cases by taking with the concerned authority and if needed in the consumer court.

World Consumer Rights Day which falls on 15th March every year is an annual occasion for celebration and solidarity within the international consumer movement.

They also protest about the market abuses and social injustices which undermine them.

The theme of this year’s celebration according to consumer international is Consumers Right to Healthy Food.
