CMA Organize a Lecture on “Mind Your Mind”

Marital Counselor and Gemologist, Col Gursewak Singh was the Key Note Speaker

Pic 2Chandigarh Management Association (CMA) organized a lecture on “Mind Your Mind” at University Business School (UBS), Panjab University, Chandigarh. Marital Counselor and Gemologist, Col. Gursewak Singh was the Key Note Speaker on the occasion. President, CMA and Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr Anshu Kataria presided over the event. Chairman, Membership Committee, CMA, Mr. A.K. Gandhi was also present on Pic 1the occasion.

While delivering the talk Col. Gursewak Singh explained beautifully all the aspects related to “Human Mind”. He said that first we have to understand the theory of the human mind: What is human mind including Conscious and Sub-conscious mind? How it functions in conjunctions with our brain? How we can use it to enhance our personality to achieve success in life and attain peace of mind.

He further added that physical exercise, meditation, plenty of sleep and socialization are some steps to keep our mind healthy. He also told that Alcohol and other drugs can kill brain cells. On other hand, Caffeine creates a dependence on a chemical that can otherwise be generated naturally.

 

 

Pic 4After the lecture, a Questions/Answers round was also held. Col. Gursewak Singh made all the queries of the audience clear regarding various problems and issues related to Mind. The Master of Ceremony, Vice President, CMA, Mr. Jagtaran Singh Nayyar extended Vote of Thanks for the helpful tips given by Col. Gursewak Singh at the end of the Lecture.

Aryans Group to organize Joint Campus Placement Drive on 18th November

This placement drive is being organized by Aryans College of Engineering, Chandigarh at its campus. This placement drive is exclusively for B.Tech (CSE/ IT) and MCA Holders. The packages offered by the companies are up to 3 lacs.

Chairman, Aryans Group, Dr. Anshu Kataria said that students need to carry 10 copies of their resumes and passport size photograph with them to sit in the interview. He added that students can register at www.aryans.edu.in.

Dr. Kataria further said that the Aryans Group has a dedicated Training and Placement cell that establishes contacts with industrial houses to arrange training and placement of the students. The cell also guides and helps the Final year students in securing jobs with their knowledge and achievements, by organizing campus Interviews and exploring various avenues for their placement.

Training Placement Officer, Aryans Group, Ms. Tejinder Kaur said that Winapps Software Solutions seeks qualified and skilled students for the position of software developer, web developer, web designer and business analyst. On other hand HCL seeks Developer, Network Engineers and BDE.
She further said that this joint campus placement drive is to be held exclusively for the final year students of B.Tech (CSE/ IT) and MCA. It is an Open campus placement drive so that the final year students of other colleges and universities could also participate and secure their career.

This year more than 500 companies have already visited the Aryans campus for the placements in various job fests organized throughout the year & many students have been selected on the basis of their capabilities.

INVESTOR AWARENESS PROGRAM IN PRESS CLUB CHANDIGARH HELD ON 05.10.2014

Investor Awareness Program at Press Club Chandigarh
 
Chandigarh, 5th October:-    Citizens Awareness Group, in collaboration with Securities Exchange Board of India organized Investor Awareness Program under the aegis of Securities Market Awareness Campaign by SEBI in the Press Club, Chandigarh.
 
It is felt that awareness pertaining to the stock market is lacking among investors. A lot of people cannot invest or hesitate to do so and many tend to make wrong decisions due to lack of information. Advising people not invest in a business they do not understand, investors were asked to look for companies with a sound management.
 
Mr. Surinder Verma, Chairman, Citizens Awareness Group, said “You would not buy a colour TV before visiting a few dealers and taking advice from some friends. But a rumour might prompt you to buy stocks worth Rs. 2 lacs. So most of the losses occurred in the stock market are a result of hasty decisions, greed and fear.” He also exemplified how even educated and high income group investors fail to follow the safeguards while investing in the stock market.
 
Mr. Vjayan Verma, Deputy General Manager, Securities Exchange Board of India, Northern Regional Office, (SEBI), New Delhi said that the presence of market regulator like SEBI and due to safe regulation adopted by various stock exchanges, the market has become far safer for small and medium investors. If investor enters in the market equipped with fundamental knowledge about the company they intend to invest in, they have fairly good chance of making a steady profit. He dwelt upon numerous aspect of the capital market like duties of investors, investor protection guidelines, trading and risk management etc.
 
Mr. Vishal Shukla, Assistant General Manager Securities Exchange Board of India, New Delhi said that objective of the program was to educate the citizens about the investment opportunities available in the securities market and apprise them about their rights and obligations while dealing in the financial market.
 
Sh. H.C. Arora, Manager Investor Services, Delhi Stock Exchange informed that DSE also receives and handles investor complaints against defaulting companies be it relating to non-receipt of share certificate, dividend, annual report. DSE takes up such complaints rigorously with the defaulting companies and it was a matter of great satisfaction that there has been full cooperation from the existing companies who respond to communication promptly and solve investors’ grievances in time. There have been a few investors who have spent value time in writing praiseworthy words about DSE’s services.
 
The program was attended by more than 100 general investors and the queries put forward by them were answered by the Panelists.

Mr. H.C. Arora, Manager (Investor Services & Education), Delhi Stock Exchange Limited (DSE) said that whatever he had to say had been covered by his seniors. He further informed the participants that Mr. Arora also informed that DSE also receives and handles investor complaints against defaulting companies be it relating to non-receipt of share certificate, dividend, annual report. DSE takes up such complaints rigorously with the defaulting companies and it was a matter of great satisfaction that there has been full cooperation from the existing companies who respond to communication promptly and solve investors’ grievances in time.

Mr. Arora also informed that daily there are many walk-in investors to the exchange who have problems of various types and considering it as Exchanges’ bounden duty he tries to help them all in whatever maximum possible way the Exchange can.

Earlier, Mr. MN Verma, Chairman Delhi Stock Exchange Limited (DSE) who was Chief Guest on the occasion inaugurated the Investor Awareness Campaign by lighting the lamp and advised the investors that equities as compared to other investments have performed well and are the best long term bet.

Dr. Kulwant Singh, Secretary General, National Media Centre-Gurgaon, welcomed the Guests and conducted the proceedings. He said that those who are vary of risk should go in for other safer instruments such as mutual funds, bonds and other fixed deposits. He assured that his organization will continue to support such Investor Awareness Programs as these are in public interest.

In the second session, there was a panel discussions led by Prof. Sunanda Sen of Jawaharlal Nehru University. The other panelists included Mr. Chaitnya Kalbag and Mr. TCA Raghavan, the Senior Journalists.

Mr. Kalbag highlighted the need for smart savings and smart investments. He said that deepening of capital market will take much longer.

Mr. Raghavan argued for making investments safer. However, he was equally keen to know if the black money can be brought into the stock market.

Prof. Sunanda Sen highlighted the need for making investments that result in higher growth rate and more employment opportunities.

The program was attended by more than 100 general investors and the queries put forward by them were answered by the Panelists.
The workshop was concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chairman, Delhi Stock Exchange and Mr. Surinder Verma, Chairman, CAG, as well as the representative of SEBI.
