1. In collaboration with Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI):

  • Open Session with Telecom Subscriber Citizen Awareness Group attended about various consumer advocacy programmes conduct by telecom service providers like Videocon, Reliance, BSNL, Vodafone, IDEA, TATA Indicom, TATA Docomo etc. under the Direction of TRAI. Where grievances of consumers were ward and redressed.
  • Seminar on Financial Investment: We organized seminar on “Be Financially Literacy: Save your investments in association with TRAI at the office of UGCE in Chandigarh.
  • Capacity Building Workshops: We attended various capacity building workshops organized at Regional /National Level at different place organized by TRAI.
  • Publication of Magazine: We are publishing be monthly magazine Consumer Power which contains regulation and guideline of TRAI for the awareness of Consumers Service providers and public at large.
  • Redressal of Complaints: We received a large number of complaints at our e-mail which were being followed with concerned telecom companies for their redressal. In some cases CC was also endorsed to TRAI for the information and necessary action.

2. In collaboration with Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI)

  • Investor Awareness Workshop: We conducted about various investors awareness workshops in association with SEBI, NSE, BSE, DSE, LSE etc. in Punjab, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh to educate the investors regarding their rights & representatives before investing in the market.
  • Publication of Magazine: We are publishing be monthly magazine “Investors Update” which contains regulation and guidelines of SEBI for the awareness of Investors, Financial Institutions and public at large.
  • Redressal of Complaints: We received a large number of complaints at our e-mail which were being followed which concerned Finance Companies, Exchanges and finally with SEBI for their redressal.
  • Investor Awareness Programmes: We also conduct investor awareness programmes in school/ colleges to educate the students regarding investment opportunities in mutual fund and equity.

3. In Collaboration with Chandigarh Administration

  • Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan: We were allotted 10 centres in Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-10 for motivation and supervision. We distributed sweters and socks to about 200 children, conducted health check-up and provided free medicines. The quality of food under mid-day meal was also being checked daily.
  • Anganwari Centres: We were allotted 10 Anganwari Centres in Sector-52 for motivation and supervision. We organized various National Events like Independence Day, Republic Day etc. We conducted health check-up and provided free medicines.
  • Female Feticide and Drug De-Addiction: We also conducted various Programmes on Female Feticide and Drug De-Addiction in rural as well as Urban Areas of the city to educate the public regarding their ill effects. We also conducted surprise check of diagnostic centre regarding the implementation of PNDT Act.
  • Environment and Tree Plantation: We planted about 200 plants in Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-10 and Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector -26. We also attended various activities run by the department of environment Chandigarh Administration.

    The members at the annual general meeting appreciated the work done by the Governing Council and others members of the Citizen Awareness Group.
